Greetings! I’m Christopher. I’m Northumbrian, born and bred, hence, ‘NorthumbriMan’. I’m currently based in the ancient market town of Morpeth. It is ancient because it was granted its market charter in A.D. 1199 by King John. It is a great spot to be as it is a short commute to Newcastle upon Tyne and the beautiful countryside of Northumberland is right on the door step.
I’m a keen photographer, although I do not pretend to be an expert. I’m a total novice, but enthusiastic about learning and developing my photography skills. I’m also passionate about local history. Northumberland is steeped in history. For example, we have over 70 castle sites, many of which date between the 14th and 16th centuries owing to border warfare.
Through my photographs, I hope to showcase the jewels of Northumberland, along with some of the hidden gems you may not know about. I hope you enjoy them. I also hope it encourages you to go out and discover the jewels and hidden gems of your local patch, too.
Equipment I’m using:
- 2006 Samsung GX-1S
- 2014 Samsung Galaxy S5 (this may be replaced soon as I’m long overdue an upgrade).
